The local train system which is also the lifeline of the city was started in the year 1925. It runs on power and electricity provided by the wires hanging above the railway tracks. The local trains are still working pretty efficiently hence no big changes have been made in it.

The Central Park of Mumbai covers the area of about 26,000 square meters. This makes it the largest play are for kids and adults in all over the Asia.
7. It has India’s only theme park.
The only theme park of India the infamous ‘Adlabs Imagica’ is situated a few kilometers outside the city and near Khopoli.
8. Mumbai is derived from 7 islands.
Not many people know this but Mumbai is built out of 7 islands. It took almost 60 years from (1784 to 1845) to join these islands and form Mumbai.
9. Mumbai has the most expensive slum area.
The slum are of Mumbai named Dharavi ranks third largest slum in the world. It is said that maximum population of Mumbai resides in these slums. It is one the most expensive slums in the world. If you want to build a house in Dharavi then it will cost you minimum of 3 lakh rupees.
10. Bollywood was derived from “BOMBAY”.
Mumbai was earlier named as Bombay and Bollywood is home to many actors, directors and producers of the country. A major part of Bollywood comes from Hindi Film Industry.
