UK Invites PM Modi To Attend G7

British Prime Minister (PM) Boris Johnson has extended out the invitation to Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi to go to the 47th G7 Summit as a guest alongside Australian and South Korean partners to extend the “expertise and experience” around the table.

Containing the United Kingdom (UK), United States (US), Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, and the European Union, the G7 fills in as a forum for the nations to come together and address shared challenges. This year’s summit will be hosted by the UK from 11-13 June in the nation’s Cornwall region.

The 10 countries participating in the current year’s G7 Summit will speak to more than 60% of individuals living in vote-based systems across the world, adding up to 2.2 billion individuals. More than half of these will be represented by Indian participation alone.

In a tweet, the UK PM wrote, “I look forward to welcoming world leaders to Cornwall for the @G7 Summit in June. My goal is to work with our friends and partners to #BuildBackBetter from the coronavirus pandemic and create a fairer, greener and more prosperous future.”

Meanwhile, it should be noted that this will be the first time in two years that the grouping will meet, given last year’s summit hosted by the US was moved online due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
