In 2006, a not so popular but ambitious director came together for a comedy film with the intense hero Ajay Devgn. This movie was none other than ‘Golmaal: Fun Unlimited‘. A film that has absolutely no sense but is so much fun to watch that you just can’t resist.
The film turned out to be a big commercial success and amazing songs to go with. This lead to two more films in the series ‘Golmaal Returns‘ and ‘Golmaal 3‘. Now, recently the fourth part of the series ‘Golmaal Again‘ is released and as usual, it is also a superhit film.
That’s why in honor of this amazing film we brought you a few fun facts about the series. Check them out!
1. Why was the film titled ‘Golmaal‘?
Well, not many of us knew about this but the title is actually the first few letters of the name of the main characters that were- ‘GO‘pal, ‘L‘axman, ‘MA’dhav, and ‘L‘ucky.
2. Ajay Devgn’s entry scene in ‘Golmaal: Fun Unlimited‘
Only a few people know that Ajay Devgn’s entry scene in the film ‘Golmaal: Fun Unlimited‘ was actually a tribute to his stunt in his film ‘Phool Aur Kaante‘. The stuntman at that time was none other than Ajay Devgn’s father Veeru Devgn.
3. Microsoft decided to use the emoji in Skype.
Microsoft decided that this film was worth the appreciation and hence it was decided that the emojis of this film will be introduced in its video calling software Skype.
4. It was Ajay’s comeback in comedy world
Before ‘Golmaal: Fun Unlimited‘ Ajay Devgn’s last film was ‘Masti‘ in 2004. So technically it was also Ajay’s comeback in the comedy genre.
5. In every part, there is an imitation of another movie or serial
In ‘Golmaal: Fun Unlimited‘ the film ‘Black‘ was imitated in a comic way. In ‘Golmaal Returns‘, Kareena Kapoor recited the dialogues of Ekta Kapoor’s saas-bahu sagas. In ‘Golmaal 3‘, Mithun Chakraborty imitated his own infamous song ‘Disco Dancer‘.
6. The fourth part is Ajay and Rohit’s 10th collaboration
This is Ajay and Rohit’s 10th collaboration followed by ‘Zameen‘, ‘Sunday‘, ‘All The Best: Fun Begins‘, ‘Golmaal: Fun Unlimited‘, ‘Golmaal Returns‘, ‘Golmaal 3‘, ‘Bol Bachchan‘, ‘Singham‘, and ‘Singham Returns‘.
7. For ‘Golmaal Again‘, Tabu didn’t use glycerin!
In the ‘Golmaal Again‘, Tabu didn’t use glycerin at all. She said that no one took her seriously and one or the other person was always playing a prank on her. She said that after a while all of them got bored of pulling pranks and on her and then even she joined in on the fun.
8. The cast, crew and the fun
Well, when it comes to Rohit Shetty and his film nothing can be normal. Everything has to be super fun and involves a lot of pranks. Something similar happened in ‘Golmaal Again‘ as well. The whole team had so much fun and obviously, there were n number of pranks played by Ajay, Rohit and the rest of the team.
9. When Neil Nitin Mukesh became the part of the Golmaal series
When Neil joined the team for the shoots he was warmly welcomed by Parineeti. She posted a video of her humming the title track and doing the hook step of the film in honor of Neil.
10. Baby Laksshya’s first day out
Tusshar Kapoor’s beloved son Laksshya accompanied him to Hyderabad at Ramoji Film City for the shoots. It was actually Laksshya’s first outdoor shoot in ten months. Tusshar also shared a photo of Laksshya enjoying on the sets.
