Humans are believed to be really creative and there is a good reason behind it. Almost every day something new and imaginative crosses our mind.
Same happened with us back when we thought certain animals actually existed in the world. Even little kids have this great habit of drawing such things that we can only imagine existed.
Let’s check out the mythical animals that remained prevalent for a long time.
1. Unicorn
After watching them in Disney movies many girls would have hoped that Unicorns existed. But the Unicorns were first mentioned in Bible. Roman historians also believed that Unicorns actually exist. As fantasizing as this sounds we all know that Unicorns don’t really exist. If they would have really existed then it would have been so much fun!
2. Bonnacon
Bonnacons are really mystical bull-ish animals who have a horse’s mane, bull’s body and they use their poop as a weapon. They were believed to shoot acidic feces over 600 meters towards their enemies. If only they were real!
3. Vegetable Lamb
The story of Vegetable Lamb began in middle age. It was believed to be grown like a plant. Rabi Yohanan of Jerusalem is believed to be the man behind this myth.
4. Aspidochelone
Aspidochelone is believed to be an animal whose back was huge like an island. This creature became popular in Christian and medieval texts. But no such animal was ever found.
5. Jackalope
Jackalopes are the most believable mythical animals of them all. These horned rabbits go all the way back to 17th century. Many people even reported their sightings but they were never found.
6. De Loys’ Ape
It was a myth that was apparently created by a Swiss explorer named François De Loys. But it was later on proved to be just an attention seeking stunt. Nothing like that exists and I guess that’s for our good.
7. Dragons
I guess this would be a sad news for all ‘Game of Thrones’ fans. Apparently, the fire-breathing beasts are just the figment of people’s imagination and no such thing actually exists. Sad, isn’t it?
And after reading this, I am like……
