8 Rajya Sabha Members Arrested For Unruly Conduct

On 21st September, Vice President and Chairman of Rajya Sabha M Venkaiah Naidu suspended eight Rajya Sabha MPs for a week for unruly conduct with the chairman. Derek O Brien, Sanjay Singh, Raju Satav, KK Ragesh, Ripun Bora, Dola Sen, Syed Nazir Hussain, and Elamaran Karim won’t be permitted in the house for the following seven days.

Venkaiah Naidu said it was an awful day for Rajya Sabha yesterday. The individuals came to the well of the House. The Deputy Chairman was threatened. VP Naidu called the occurrence appalling and condemnable.

After Rajya Sabha Chairman Naidu suspended the MPs for making ruckus and requested that they go out, the restriction MPs again caused disturbance in the house. They made frenzy prompting adjournment of the house till 10 AM.

Video clippings of AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh attacking a Marshal on duty circulated around the web yesterday. The Marshal was attempting to prevent him from charging at the deputy chairman and causing a ruckus. Singh likewise got on the table and raised a slogan against the Farmer’s bill passed later in the upper house.

Derek O Brien was likewise observed causing ruckus in the upper house. In a video, he was seen tearing the rule book before the Deputy Chairman. The suspended individuals purportedly threatened the Deputy Chairman.
