3. Raja Ki Aayegi Baraat
This movie is based on the story of a girl who is forced to marry her rapist. This movie raised the issue of marrying the girl to her rapist that almost every girl who went through physical abuse before marriage is asked to do.
4. Videsh: Heaven On Earth
This movie starred Preity Zinta who played the role of a girl who faces different challenges after getting married and moving to a different country.
5. Provoked
‘Provoked‘ is based on a book with the same name. The movie starred Aishwarya Rai who played the role of an abused wife. She gets married happily but soon faces a lot of violence and molestation.
6. Parched
Radhika Apte’s another inspiring film ‘Parched‘ deals with all sorts of social evils that women have to deal with every day.
7. Akaash Vani
‘Akaash Vani‘ is a romantic movie but it also highlights about the social wrongs that every woman face. In this film, the lead actress is forced to marry her elder sister’s abusive fiance and then constantly raped by him. But at the end, she is rekindled with her college love ending her relationship with her husband.
8. Daman
Raveena Tandon’s inspirational movie on women abuse ‘Daman‘ raised some bone-chilling issues. This movie also fetched her a Nationa Award.
9. Agni Sakshi
Manisha Koirala played the role of a woman who is physically abused by her husband in this movie. She tries to run away but is found by her husband who tries to harm her physically until she files a complaint against him.
