Bollywood stars may seem all busy and big everytime they make a screen appearance. But not all of them got it on a silver platter. Most of them had to fight tooth and nail to reach where they are today. They had to work extremely hard so that they can be a big name in the industry.
Many of these stars have worked as background artists and crowd dancers for so long. They have gone unnoticed many a times but if we will see them now then we will most probably recognize them.

1. Shahid Kapoor
Shahid Kapoor was once in the Shaimak Davar Dance Group. But not just that apparently he also danced in a number of songs as a background dancer. He appeared in the song ‘Le Gayi Le Gayi’ from ‘Dil Toh Pagal Hai‘ and ‘Kahin Aag Lage’ from the film ‘Taal‘.
2. Dia Mirza
Dia Mirza is known for her amazing performance in the film ‘Rehnaa Hai Tere Dil Mein‘ and ‘Parineeta‘. But before that, she was a background dancer and she appeared in the song ‘Jumbalaka’ from the film ‘En Swasa Katre?‘
3. Farah Khan
Now a renowned name in the industry was but a mere struggler once. Farah Khan has also danced behind the stars. She was one of the background dancers in the song ‘Hum Hain Naujawan’ from the film ‘Sada Suhagan‘.
4. Sushant Singh Rajput
Sushant Singh Rajput has surely come a long way. Before becoming the youth sensation he was a background dancer and used to work in Shaimak Davar Dance Group of Performing Arts. He performed in IIFA 2005-2006 as a background dancer.
5. Saroj Khan
Saroj Khan a.k.a Master Ji of the industry has been working as a choreographer for decades now. But not many people know that she has quite a number of screen presence. She first appeared in the song ‘Aaiye Meharbaan’ in the film ‘Howrah Bridge‘.
6. Smriti Irani
Smriti Irani is not just a well-known face in Politics but also in the Bollywood industry. She was one of the Ekta Kapoor’s precious diamonds. She appeared in the show ‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi‘. But not many people know that before that she appeared in Mika Singh’s music video ‘Boliyaan’.
7. Daisy Shah
Daisy Shah used to work as the assistant choreographer with Ganesh Acharya. Before she made her Bollywood debut with the film ‘Jai Ho‘ she danced in the song ‘Lagan Lagi Re’ from ‘Tere Naam‘ and was also seen dancing in the title song of the film ‘Masti‘.
8. Arshad Warsi
Before making his big time in the industry he worked as background artist and choreographer. He appeared in the song ‘Help me’ in the film ‘Aag Se Khelenge‘ where he danced behind Jitendra Kapoor.
9. Remo D’Souza
Remo D’Souza appeared in a number of films and songs before becoming a famous choreographer. He was clearly visible in the song ‘Meri Mehbooba’ in the film ‘Pardes‘. He was also in the title song of ‘Aflatoon‘ where he danced behind Akshay Kumar.
10. Kajal Aggarwal
Kajal Aggarwal made her Bollywood debut in the year 2004 with the film ‘Kyun Ho Gaya Na…‘ In this film, she played the role of Aishwarya’s friend.
