Deepika, Sara, Rakulpreet And Shraddha To Be Summoned By NCB This Week

The list of Bollywood actors on the radar of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has gone up further with the name of Deepika Padukone surfacing in the drugs angle being probed in connection with Sushant Singh Rajput suicide.

The investigators have found online chat messages from her number where she allegedly asked her manager for drugs. The NCB has summoned Deepika Padukone’s manager and may also grill the actor later.

Deepika Padukone is the one who has been virtue signalling mental health issues. After Sushant Singh’s alleged suicide, Deepika who had been vocal about her battle with depression had urged her fans to open up about mental health challenges and to reach out if the needed. While doing so, a number of her social media posts began with ‘Repeat After Me’.

A few weeks back Deepika Padukone was in the news for her JNU visit- In January this year, during film promotion of her film ‘Chhapaak’, based on an acid attack survivor Lakshmi’s real life story, Deepika Padukone had visited JNU campus amid the protests. It was also alleged that Deepika Padukone has connections with Aneel Mussarat who is a Pakistan National, has deep connections in Bollywood. It was also claimed that Deepika Padukone had received two calls before she visited JNU. One call was from Karachi and one from Dubai. However allegations also say that Deepika was paid a sum of Rs. 5 crore for the same.

Being an insider to Bollywood, a top actress in the Hindi film industry and apparently one of the most well networked person of the industry. It is a bit off the beat to hear that this top crusader of mental health wasn’t aware of what all Sushant Singh Rajput was going through in his life and it was his death that sparked another level of activism that took them to social media platforms and talk about problems related to mental health.

However as the probe into sushants case and the Bollywood drug link in getting wider Bollywood celebrities Deepika Padukone, Sara Ali Khan, Shraddha Kapoor and Rakul Preet Singh have been summoned by the Narcotics Control Bureau in a stunning twist to the drugs probe linked to the Sushant Singh Rajput investigation.

These are the most high-profile names to come up in a widening probe into the link between drugs and the film industry. Deepika Padukone’s name has reportedly emerged in various drug-related chats, which has left social media stunned.

Deepika Padukone’s manager Karishma Prakash had been questioned yesterday in a case that the Narcotics Control Bureau had filed on the basis of WhatsApp messages retrieved from Rhea Chakraborty’s mobile phone, which revealed conversations on procuring drugs. Deepika Padukone has been summoned on Friday and the rest will be questioned tomorrow, according to officers.

The NCB had summoned Mantena was the co-producer of 2016 Bollywood film ‘Udta Punjab’ which dealt with the issue of drug menace. Also, the judicial custody of Rhea Chakraborty has been extended till October 6, after being arrested by the NCB earlier this month under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances act.
