In an indirect attack at the opposition over the farm laws, Prime Minister Modi, on Sunday, said that the individuals who profited by the despair regarding the ranchers are opposing the farm laws.
The Prime Minister, who launched the physical distribution of property cards under the ‘SVAMITVA’ (ownership) scheme earlier today, said that many people don’t want villages, poor, farmers, labourers to become ‘Aatmanirbhar’ or self-sufficient.
“Keeping the individuals of villages and poor denied of facilities has been the premise of the political issues of certain individuals. Nowadays, these individuals are likewise objecting to the changes that have been made in the farm laws, they are baffled. Their disappointment isn’t for farmers, however for themselves,” PM Modi said.
Stepping up his attack at the opposition for criticising the farm laws, the Prime Minister said that the country has recognised its “looters” and it will not stop now. He also alleged that people whose “politics was powered by middlemen” are spreading lies against the reforms.
“The nation has begun perceiving the individuals who are associated with plundering the nation. These individuals are indiscriminately restricting everything. They are not worried about either poor, or town or nation. These individuals need to slow down the advancement and development of the nation,” he said.
The Prime Minister further said that people who stayed in power for long left villages to fend for themselves, adding that he couldn’t do that.
“People whose source of black earnings has stopped with the introduction of Kisan Credit Cards scheme for small farmers, livestock farmers, fishermen, are having a problem today. Those who have a problem with direct transfer of money into farmers’ bank account are restless today,” he said, in an apparent swipe at the opposition.
“Those who have a problem with insurance and pension facilities being provided to farmers and farm labourers, are against the agricultural reforms today but the farmer is not ready to go with them, the farmer knows their truth,” he added.
The opposition led by the Congress party has been cornering the Centre over the three contentious farm laws, calling them “anti-farmers”.
Congress pioneer Rahul Gandhi has consistently attacked the Narendra Modi government over the laws as of late, asserting that they will destroy food security in the nation.
The ex-Congress chief said that his party will throw the “three black laws” in a waste paper basket, the day it comes to power in the country.
