Govt Plans Seaplane Service From Delhi To Ayodhya And Uttarakhand

After the launch of seaplane services between the Statue of Unity in Kevadia and Ahmedabad’s Sabarmati Riverfront, the government is intending to tap the seaplane tourism potential across the nation.

The Sagarmala Development Company (SDCL) which works under the Union Ministry of Shipping and Waterways has given an Expression of Interest (EoI) to start the seaplane service on several more such routes.

The courses proposed to incorporate Delhi to Uttar Pradesh (UP’s) Ayodhya, Delhi to Uttarakhand’s Tehri and Srinagar, Delhi to Chandigarh, Mumbai to Shirdi, Mumbai to Lonavala, Surat to Kandla, Surat to Dwarka, and inside the archipelagos of Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep.

SDCL has additionally said that the invested parties can likewise think of different courses which they may discover suitable. There is additionally a chance of launching a service between the holy cities of Ayodhya and Varanasi in UP.

As per the report, the route under the Sagarmala Seaplane Service (SSPS) might be worked under the government’s financed “Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik (UDAN)” conspire.

As per the EoI, the government has sought a response from interested entities for forming a special purpose vehicle (SPV) with SDCL to undertake joint development and operation of SSPS.
