In the midst of the continuous farmers’ fights at different lines of Delhi, a journalist has affirmed that female journalists were facing sexual harassment at the protest sites and said that the protesting farmers would be doing themselves “the biggest disfavour” by not weeding out those “depraves” who were involved in such activities.
Taking to Twitter, India Today journalist Preeti Choudhry affirmed that “a sizeable chunk of depraves” at these protests were explicitly hassling the female reporters. She said that her channel’s group had enough such occurrences to report.
Choudhry additionally asked those in solidarity with the farmers’ fights to call out those engaged with sexual harassment of female reporters at the protest sites.
It ought to be noticed that Farmers, fundamentally from Punjab, Haryana and western Uttar Pradesh, have been fighting at different boundary points of Delhi for longer than a month at this point against the Center’s three new ranch laws.
The government has so far held eight round of talks with the ranchers’ representative with respect to the farm laws.
