The trailer of the film The Accidental Prime Minister was released on Thursday, giving the audience a political insight into the working of Gandhi family with the then Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh.
The movie is based on the controversial book of the same title. The book is written by the Manmohan Singh media advisor Sanjaya Baru.
The Accidental Prime Minister covers a decade from 2004 to 2014 during the governance of Manmohan Singh. The movie stars Anupam Kher as the then Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh. The movie introduces the character of the Prime Minister as Bhishma of Mahabharat, who is flawless yet trapped in the middle of family drama. The veteran actor Anupam Kher has picked up the traits of the Prime Minister with utmost perfection. The way he walks, his body language, his speaking style and even according to Kher it is the best role of his career.
Akshay Khanna is back with an exuberant character in the film and is playing the role of Sanjaya Baru, the media advisor of the Prime Minister.
The movie also gives us a glimpse of the characters, who are playing the role of the Gandhi family. It features German-born actor Suzanne Bernert who is playing Sonia Gandhi, Arjun Mathur as Rahul Gandhi and Aahana Kumra as Priyanka Vadra.
