A fire broke out in the Foreign Post Office at the exchange building located at Ballard Estate in south Mumbai on Monday. The fire broke out around 01:15 PM on the second floor of the Exchange building no.2 on Walchand Hirachand Marg, an official said.
The blaze was later brought under control as Fire tenders immediately rushed to the spot to douse the blaze. The building was also evacuated as a precautionary measure.
As per ANI’s tweet, “MUMBAI : Fire breaks out in Exchange Building at Ballard Estate; fire tenders present at the spot.” It was later reported by Times Now that No person was injured in the same.
Initial details suggested a blast in the air conditioner on the second floor of the Exchange Building caused the fire. Team of fire brigades reached the spot as soon as they received a call about the incident
Many people were seen rushing out of the building as soon as the fire broke out.
Some office furniture and stationery were gutted in the fire. The NCB also has its office on the building’s third floor, which is currently investigating the drug angle in the Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case and the drug nexus in Bollywood.
Various drug peddlers and others related to the drug case have been questioned at this office. Further, Rhea Chakraborty, Showik Chakrabory, Samuel Miranda and Dipesh Sawant were arrested in connection with the alleged drug chats by the NCB were sent to judicial custody.
Currently, Rhea Chakraborty is in Byculla Jail. Meanwhile, Jaya Saha who was Sushant Singh Rajput’s talent manager was summoned today and questioned at NCB SIT guest house for her links to the alleged drug chats with Rhea Chakraborty and others.
