Dharma Productions’ previous executive producer Kshitij Ravi Prasad has affirmed that he has been constrained by the NCB to falsely outline Ranbir Kapoor, Dino Morea, and Arjun Rampal in Bollywood drugs case.
Prasad, who was captured by the NCB a month ago in a Bollywood-drugs case, was today sent to legal custody till October 6.
Prasad has told the court that he has been “pressured into falsely involving” the three celebs by the NCB authorities, a charge excused as “false and unjustifiable” by the counter medications office.
Prasad’s legal advisor Satish Maneshinde had before told the court that his client was being tortured and extorted to say something against Karan Johar by NCB authorities.
In his latest statement before the special Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act court, Prasad said, “Subsequent to my earlier statement, I have been repeatedly harassed and coerced into falsely implicating Ranbir Kapoor, Dino Morea, and Arjun Rampal in the present proceedings.”
“Despite me repeatedly stating that I don’t said persons…and have no knowledge of allegations against them (sic),” he was quoted as saying by news agency PTI.
He further asserted that the NCB authorities have been planning different false explanations according to their desires and attempting to “pressure him into marking them”.
However, special public prosecutor Atul Sarpande dismissed Prasad’s allegations and said: “Neither had we taken these names nor the accused ever mentioned them. We have shown his statement to the court.
