WhatsApp which is under fire over a new data sharing policy has now declared that its data policy for Europe will stay unaltered, which means no new information will be gathered and imparted to organizations like Facebook.
“There are no progressions to WhatsApp’s information-sharing practices in Europe emerging from this update. It remains the case that WhatsApp doesn’t share European Region WhatsApp client information with Facebook with the end goal of Facebook utilizing this information to improve its items or advertisements”, Director of Policy for WhatsApp, Europe Niamh Sweeny has been cited as saying.
Yet, clients in India don’t have such extravagance and would be compelled to conform to the new approach.
This had driven numerous to get down on WhatsApp for its double standards. Paytm founder Vijay Shekhar Sharma called out the messaging app for the same.
Following broad analysis of its new information protection strategy, WhatsApp has explained that no personal messaging data will be monitored, stored or shared. The updated policy it claims pertains to how businesses use data for customer service.
